Calmia Silky Perfect Foot Peeling

Where I got it: I got this on a website called Althea for USD$4.25. They stock heaps of Korean skincare and cosmetic brands at very affordable prices and they ship all the way from Korea.

What I got: This is the Calmia Silky Perfect Foot Peeling. Calmia is one of the affordable choices Althea Korea offers for foot peeling. Its main ingredients are Retinispora, Snail Secretion Filtrate, Hydrolyzed Collagen and AHA.

How I find it: I have used one of these foot peeling masks before but it was quite a few years ago and the effect was pretty good. For a few months now, I have been getting dried, rough and cracked skin on my feet and it is a PAIN! It’s hard to get rid of and looks awful! So I decided to get one of these to remove all the dead skin off my feet. This one is quite different to the one I’ve seen before because the ‘socks’ and the liquid are in separate packets.

So you open up the ‘socks’ packet to take out a pair of plastic socks with a fabric inner layer. Then pour in the liquid in the respective sock (make sure you open up the fabric inner layer), then slip your clean and dry feet inside. The socks comes with two long piece to tie around just above your ankles to keep the sock from coming off. Leave them on for 1 to 1.5 hours then rinse off.

The socks are not the safest or most comfortable things to walk in, but if you have slippers or booties at home, slip them on so your feet won’t be sliding around in the socks and let the liquid soak in better.

Unfortunately, I misread the packaging (all in Korea and I am not Korean) and thought I only need to put it on for 30 minutes before taking it off and washing off. I’m not sure if it will still work or not because I have only put in on for half or a third of the required time. Let’s have a look at the immediate before and after.

Overall: First of all, I quite like how I can put the liquid in the ‘socks’ myself which makes it a little bit more fun. But of course, more time-consuming. Even though I managed to read the instructions wrong and left the socks on for too short, it still made my skin feel off. I had a few rough patches where the skin is quite tough and this mask has helped it but not fully remove the patches. Overall, I am satisfied with the results of this foot mask even though my skin didn’t peel off in big pieces as they usually advertise it to work, but it did peel and made my feet more soft and smooth. I keep the hydration of my feet up with foot and heel cream as well as wearing socks at night to keep the moisture it. I would definitely buy more to use this once a month or every 2 months.
