L’Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Detox Clay Mask

Where I got it: I bought this from my local Countdown after a few visits because they had the shampoo and conditioner, but not the mask which I was really interested in. I bought this for around $9.00. I was unable to find this from my local Pak n Save or Farmers.

What I got: This is a tub of L’Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Detox Clay Mask.

How I find it: This is a pre-shampoo clay mask you use on your dry scalp. I grab a good amount of the product and carefully put it as close to my roots as possible with my fingertips. A tip to use would be to part the hair and apply with a brush to get even coverage. If you are time-poor, just use your fingers. Leave that on for 10-15 minutes, then hop into the shower and rinse it off. Follow with shampoo and conditioner. Personally, I don’t use this for my entire scalp because my concerned area if mostly around the crown of my head and on the sides only.

Overall: I don’t have extremely oily scalp but since I don’t wash my hair every day (every 2nd or 3rd day), I do need a bit of help keeping my scalp from getting too oily. This mask does help to a certain extent but it is an extra 10-15 minutes for my hair care routine (I am quite lazy for hair care) and I can’t be bothered sometimes. I would prefer to use a product after washing my hair because I can also pop on a face mask and use that 10-15 minutes wisely. Anyway, I think this is quite an interesting product and would be great if you can use it every second day if you have a rather oily scalp and if you have the time.
