Colourpop Cosmetics Haul 2

Where I got it: Recently ColourPop’s facebook page had a really nice deal for their strobing sets ($25 each for 3 cheek products and 3 lippie stix, usually $39), plus I have a few cheek products on my wishlist anyway, so I was shopping online again haha (see my previous ColourPop Haul here). I ordered this about 3 weeks ago and they were inundated with orders through the black friday and cyber monday sales so it took a little bit longer than my first haul. Usually they get to you within 2 weeks! Pretty awesome! My order was a total USD$55.00 (excluding shipping).

What I got: This purchase I got the Strobing I set (3 Super Shock Cheeks in Fanny Pack, Parasol and Non-Fiction. 3 Lippie Stix in Fame, Thistle and Marmalade), 3 Super Shock Cheeks in Electric Slide, Monster and Get Leid and 1 Creme Gel Colour in Superstition.

How I find it:

Strobing I Set. This Strobing I set is suitable for light to medium skintones. It contains a cool-toned highlighter (Fanny Pack – peralized finish), a warm-toned highlighter (Parasol – peralized finish) and a blush (Non-Fiction – pearlized finish). It also comes with 3 lippie stix in 3 flattering nude shades (Fame – sheer creme, Thistle – creme, Marmalade – creme). They are neatly set out in a slide-open box complete with an instruction card to teach you about strobing.

Fanny Pack is an Icy silvery white with a Pearlized finish. This is amazing for highlighting as well as for the inner corners of the eyes. A little goes a long way with this so use a light hand with the brush. I like to use a round top kabuki brush for my Super Shock Cheeks otherwise a duo-fibre stippling brush is recommended.  Parasol is a soft peachy gold with a Peralized finish. This shade seems to be only available from the Strobing sets (both I and II). This is a really pretty warm highlighter, very similar to Electric Slide but slightly more peachy and warm. This would be great if you are slightly tanned or if you are going for a little bit of sun-kissed look. This would also look amazing as an eyeshadow as it is super pigmented and shimmery! Non-Fiction is a warm pink with gold and copper highlights. This shade is also only available from the Strobing I set.  This is a beautiful warm pink blush shade that really suits my yellow-undertone skin. It is pigmented, so just use a very light hand. This is great as a summer blush if you don’t mind all that shimmer!

As for the Lippie Stix, Fame is a pale warm nude in a crème sheer finish. From the tube, I was highly skeptical because of its nude colour. I have naturally pigmented lips and anything that is lighter than my own natural lip colour looks really weird on me. However this formula made this shade so much more wearable! It is a sheer creme so it is creamy, but not too opaque. No streaks and the finish is very pretty! This is pretty much my first real nude lippy! Thistle is a warm peachy nude in a crème finish. This is almost my lips but better shade! It is creamy on the lips and almost match my natural lip shade! Love it. Marmalade is a warm rosy pink in a crème finish. Slightly darker than my natural lip, it is really a nice rosy pink that complements my skintone. Both creme finishes are really nice and they are so creamy on the lips! Oh, and they all smell sooooooo yum! Like caramel popcorn!

Super Shock Cheeks in Electric Slide, Monster and Get Leid (RRP USD$8.00 each). Monster is a cute light pink with highly opalescent duo chrome finish. This is a really beautiful highlighter. This is very similar to Hippo from me previous haul but instead of a lavender shimmer, it has a beautiful opalescent pink shimmer which gives up a flushed or more pinkish skin-like highlight. LOVE this. Electric Slide is a true gold in a pearlized finish. This would be great as a highlighter for tanned or bronzed skin. I love to use this on its own without a blush or bronzer. It gives me this effortless tanned look with a gentle highlight. Get Leid is a bright warm peach in a matte finish. First time trying out matte blushes to be honest. All of my other blushes are shimmers which is strange because shimmering blushes tends to accentuate pores so I’m not sure why I haven’t tried matte ones before. However, Get Leid is quite a nice blush for my yellow undertone skin. I went for a safe shade that is great for summer. This is pigmented so I pick up a small amount each time and build up to the intensity that I like. Love the effect of this matte blush – will be getting more!!

Creme Gel Colour in Superstition. Deep smoky khaki topped with pink and violet glitter in a glitter finish. This gel colour is really pretty – it is dark black/brown with pink and purple shimmer. Very interesting combination of pink and purple shimmers in a dark brown base. So far, Colourpop only has 3 creme gels that are glitter finish and I got this brown because this is probably a colour that I would wear most of the time and the glitter will still show up. Formula is really smooth and I love to use a flat eyeliner brush, dip it in the product and brush off excess on the back of my hand, then apply to my eyeline area. I don’t line my waterline or upper lash line because I just don’t like that look on me. Buildable intensity and it looks subtle but really beautiful on the eyes.

Overall: Really satisfied with this second haul. Love the highlighters from Colourpop and the matte blush. I will be getting more matte blush but I think I have enough highlighters for now. The range of shades is just amazing and with the prices of these products, they just get picked up so easily and won’t break the bank. Definitely high quality for their price!
