ColourPop Cosmetics Haul

I have been seeing so many people trying an raving about ColourPop cosmetics – their quality is amazing, their colour range is impressive and their price is unbeatable! So I decided to hop onto the website to have a look. Honestly,  I have enough lipsticks and lip glosses to last me for a decade and I don’t wear much eye shadow, but the range on their website is just too pretty!

Where I got it: I was right on time when they just released their Creme Gel Colours and had a restock of some of their best selling ultra matte lip colours (More Better and Bad Habit). I had a $5 off coupon code for joining their mailing list and I was shopping away! I chose 3 Lippie Stix ($5 each), 3 Ultra Matte Lip ($6 each), 2 Creme Gel Colours ($6 each) and 2 Super Shock Cheeks ($8 each). I spent a total of USD$63 and shipping to New Zealand was USD$19.54. My order arrived within a week! Have a look at their range of shades available on www.colourpop.com!

ColourPop Haul

What I got: As mentioned above, I got a couple of products from their range except for lippie pencils, eyeshadows and bronzers.  I bought 3 Lippie Stix in Whip, Wifey and Flawless. 3 Ultra Matte Lip in More Better, Bad Habit and Creeper. 2 Creme Gel Colours in Best O and No Shame and 2 Super Shock Cheeks in Fox and Hippo. ColourPop also has a wide range of really pretty eye shadow shades, bronzer shades, matching lip pencils and creme liners. They also have really nice holiday packs or limited edition packs. They have discount codes and sales often – just sign up to their mailing list or follow them on Facebook for more information!

How I find it:

ColourPop Creme Gel Colour in Best O and No Shame. Best O – This deepened burgundy will make you feel reeeeallll good. No Shame – Zero f***s given in this saturated blackened violet. Both shades I got are matte shades, there are 19 matte shades and 5 metallic shades available. Both shades looks pretty similar and they appear quite brown on my swatches, but that is because of my camera and lighting which is a bit yellow. The little pots are sturdy with a heavy glass base and a plastic screw cap. The packaging is really good quality and the product inside is not dry/crackly at all. I like to use a firm, synthetic angled eyeliner brush to apply this gel eyeliner. I dip it in to pick up the product and wipe off the excess on the back of my hand if I picked too much. Then I like to work from the middle of my upper lash line and work to the ends. Then I go in for more product and work from the inner corners to the middle. Then I clean up the line and carefully do a flick or just end the line at the outer corners of my eyes. I wash my brush everytime so no product dries on the brushes. I try to work quickly because it dries down quite fast.

I really love Best O as it gives a hint of colour to my brown eyes without being too harsh or too stand out. No Shame is quite similar but much like a dark violet/brown. The longevity of the creme gel is pretty good. Usually gel liners only last about 4-5 hours on my eyes before transferring to my under eye area, but this lasts a good 7-8 hours before it transfers down to my under eye area. Removal is easy with cleansing oil or a cleansing water and does not irritate my eyes. I would love to try out their Creme Gel Liners because they are much more convenient and faster to apply.

ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in Hippo and Fox. Fox – You’ll be a stone cold fox in this mid tone warm coral in a satin finish. Hippo – Hip, hip hooray for this soft cool-toned icy lavender. There is a total of 14 shades of pearlized highlighters, 15 matte blushes, 7 satin blushes and 3 pearlized blushes. These blushes and highlighters are quite pigmented and there is quite a lot of product in each of these pots. Comes with a plastic base and lid with a clear window. I swatched with my fingers and the texture is simply amazing! It feels like a mousse or like a cream! I love applying with a flat top or angled flat top kabuki brush (I recently purchased some Jessup Kabuki brushes and they are perfect!). I swirl the brush lightly on the product and blend onto my cheeks or cheekbone area. The formula blends in flawlessly and gives gorgeous colour and highlight to my cheeks without looking shimmery or sparkly.

ColourPop Super Shock Cheek

Fox is a really nice coral blush shade that makes me look so much more younger and summery. The intensity can be built up and it looks really natural on the cheeks without any micro-shimmers. Hippo is also a really nice highlighter – I chose this shade because I don’t have a cool-toned highlighter and this one has hints of lavender! I use a round top kabuki brush to apply the highlighter – to my cheekbones, down my nose and on my cupid’s bow. Brings out my features without looking like a grease-ball! Really love these 2 products and I would love to get more blush shades too.

Lippie Stix in Wifey, Whip and Flawless. Wifey – Bright lavender pink in a satin finish. Whip – vivid blue violet in a sheer finish. Flawless – Deep red violet in a satin finish. There are 2 creme shades, 8 sheer shades, 15 satin shades, 5 glossy shades, 26 matte shades and 1 pearlized shade. These lippie stix are quite cute and the slim packaging is quite nice as well. The product is well protected in the tube and you just twist the coloured part from the white part then  you are ready to go! The satin finish is quite pigmented and vibrant while the sheer finish is quite buildable and easy to wear. Wifey does not look nice on me at all – it is too pink for my pigmented lips and my yellow skintone. It makes my skin look dull and overly yellow. I love Whip, I love how it is sheer and the blue violet shade works so well with my pigment lips and I can control how pigmented/opaque it gets with different layers. I can wear this on a daily basis. Flawless is a pretty awesome deep red shade with a hint of violet. It is vampy, moody and great for a night out with minimal eye makeup.

Ultra Matte Lip in More Better, Bad Habit and Creeper. Creeper – Keep it real in this true classic blue red. Bad Habit – This dusty mauve pink will be a bad habit you don’t want to kick. More Better – Girl you hot now, but you’ll be looking more better in this deep violet wine. Comes in a total of 38 shades. These Ultra Matte Lip are awesome! I can put these on at 8 in the morning, eat lunch, drink water and by the time I get home from work, it is still on! No dry lips, no cracking, but just a little bit of bleeding but that could be resolved by applying a matching lip liner beforehand! I love all 3 shades! Creeper is a classic blue toned red which is something that I’ve always been looking for. Bad Habit and More Better were both best seller shades that they have been restocked after being sold out. More Better is a really vampy deep wine colour that is also something I don’t have in my collection yet. Bad Habit if more of a mauve pink that is easy to wear but still gives a bit of moody feel. Both of these colours are great for my pigmented lips, but much more suitable for fall instead of summer in New Zealand. They go on smoothly and almost velvet like. Then it dries down matte and feels thin and light on the lips. Be warned, it can be difficult to remove if you don’t use an oil based remover like a oil cleanser or a 2-phase lip and eye makeup remover! Make sure you remove all trace, otherwise it will get around your mouth 😀

Top to bottom: just applied, after lunch, after work. 9 hrs of wear

Overall: Absolutely love all their Ultra Matte Lip, Supe Shock Cheek colours and Creme Gel colours, but their Lippie Stix are not my favourite. However, considering the prices of these products and the quality, they are pretty darn good! Heaps of shades to choose from, that is always a bonus! They also have really funky blues, greens and purples for their Ultra Matte Lip shades! I have already ordered more from thei website from a recent promotion they have – $20 for all sets. I ordered a Strobing set and a couple of highlighters and blushes also with a new Creme Gel Colour shade. Keep an eye out on my Instagram and my Facebook for more updates on my purchase!

So keen to buy from colourpop after this! Do you think the liner in ‘Best-O’ would be okay to use and an eyebrow gel? I’ve just finished my ABH pomade and wasn’t too impressed with it x
