Savar Rosehip Ultra Brightening Serum

Where I got it: I was sent this for considration from Savar. You could purchase Savar products from www.savaronline.com and leading retailers. RRP NZD$56.00.

What I got: This is Savar’s Rosehip Ultra Brightening Serum in a beautiful recyclable glass bottle. It is loaded with nutritional benefits, heavenly scented and formulated specially to tighten, hydrate, brighten and penetrate deep within the skin’s layers. This wonderful new brightening serum is oil free, age defying, natural, crafted in New Zealand and enriched with the very best of nature’s superfoods. Premium rosehip, together with New Zealand blackcurrant, kiwifruit, goji berry and bearberry – these powerhouse superfoods are exceptionally rich in antioxidants and vitamins C and E to target fine lines, address uneven skin tones, enhance and brighten your complexion.

How I find it: After cleansing and toning, I use a treatment essence (still using my Kiehl’s Iris Extract Activivating Treatment Essence), then I use about 3 drops of this serum and apply it with my hands. This serum feels really light and very hydrating on the skin – not greasy at all it feels like it turned into water upon contact with my skin! After that I will apply my usual moisturiser. I love using this during the day as I already have a favourite night-time serum already. However if you wish to, you can use this day and night and in conjunction with other serums you might be using already.

Overall: The consistency and weight of this serum is amazingly light! It is great for oily skin and also great as a boost to normal to dry skin. It smells great of berries and is clear in colour. The dropper bottle is great to dispense a controlled amount of serum everytime without making a mess. It is absorbed quickly so you can apply other skincare products on top faster. I haven’t seen any specific reactions with my other skincare or face makeup (i.e. foundation moving or slipping), so I think its got a good texture going on there.  Overtime, this should help brighten my complexion, but so far I see amazing hydration for my oily combination skin without clogging my pores or leaving a film over my skin.
