Estée Lauder Magic Smoky Powder Shadow Stick

Where I got it: I was sent this for consideration. This will be available at all Estee Lauder counters from August 2015 for RRP$45.00.

What I got: This is the NEW Estée Lauder Magic Smoky Powder Eyeshadow Stick in 02 Indigo Smoke. The NEW Magic Smoky™ Powder Shadow Stick is a transformative eyeshadow pencil that acts like a pressed eyeshadow to deliver amplified glamour and an intensely seductive look. Amazingly easy, simply sweep to achieve a smoldering smoky look within seconds – no tools, no brushes, no artistry required. A silky powder shadow in a pencil, NEW Magic Smoky™ Powder Shadow Sticks sweep over lids and under lashlines to reveal seriously seductive multi-dimensional colour. Simply glide the stick across lashlines to use as a smoky liner or delicately blend with fingers in swirling motion to transform into a luxurious, powdery eyeshadow. The eight daring shades offer an easy, sexy or glamorous look as coverage can be built from a sheer to full. Colour stays colour-true for eight hours.

How I find it: I like how this is quite a chubby pencil so it is easy to hold. The eyeshadow stick is highly pigmented but never chalky. It glides on smoothly without loose powders flying off. I don’t usually wear a smokey eye (1. I have yet to learn how to do it properly for my eye shape, 2. I’m not used to seeing myself in a smokey eye look.), so I like to use this as a soft eyeliner after I have put on my eyeshadow colours. I just draw a soft line close to my lash line and lightly smudge it out. I love how it looks on me! I was a little skeptical about the indigo shade because my skintone doesn’t really suit blue eyeshadow. But this dark indigo looks just dark enough and it also has a sheen finish.

Overall: Really impressed with the shade, the colour payoff, the finish and the versatility of this eyeshadow stick! It also comes in other beautiful shades that have a shimmery finish and a matte black for that really dark smokey look. It’s staying power is actually not too bad bearing in mind that it is a powery stick, not a cream shadow. It is just easily sharpened with a pencil sharpener when it goes blunt.
