New Zealand Fashion Week 2013 – Hailwood

I was really excited when I received an email from Lana of Sample Bar for an invitation to the Hailwood show at the 2013 New Zealand Fashion Week. This is my first show for the 2013 NZFW and to be invited by Sample Bar is just amazing! (I just realised that Lana is the lovely person I dealt with on SampleBar mentioned in my Cerise lash extension post!! Super nice and pretty.)

We got there a little early so we get sit down and get to know each other. I got to meet Natasha – the founder and Managing Director of Sample Bar. I have been a long subscriber with Sample Bar from the very start and they always have great customer service and interested new products and brands that I have never heard of.

So, here are some photos pre-show.

So here comes the Hailwood show. There were many fashionable people there and I was quite overwhelmed. I’m not the most fashionable and trendy person when it comes to fashion.

The texture of the Hailwood show was a mixture of soft + drapey and structured +polished. It began with a collection of tailored denim and earth-toned knits and jackets, then move onto some slinky silky evening dresses and shimmering cocktail sheaths. The inspiration of the show was “40’s film starlets and screen sirens shot in a 70’s movie” which showcased bouncy voluminous curls with soft skin and sleek lacquered locks with scarlett lips.

The main makeup artist was James Molloy from MAC. Main products used were the BB compact on the face, Diva lipstick on the cheeks, Soft & Gentle Mineralized Skinfinish on the eyes and Burgundy & Fascia lipmix.

It was absolutely lovely to attend the show with the Sample Bar crew and Christine from Teacups & Tantrums (check her out, she is such a sweet person!).  I really look forward to more collaborations with Sample Bar!

Thank you so much for reading! Enjoy the rest of NZFW2013!! XOXO
