Steam Cream

Where I got it: I got this in the January Glam box from Sample Bar. You can also get these from the Glam store on the Sample Bar website, or from ASOS for about $27.90NZD. There are many different designs and some are limited editions! I first saw this cream is while I was in Hong Kong in May, I saw a small consignment inside a mall, I was captured by the cute designs but I just briefly looked at it while I walked pass because I was in a hurry.

What I got: I got a 75g tin of Steam Cream (no SPF) in a limited design tin “Arles” (Sun-drenched sunflowers, in the style of Van Gogh who chose Arles as his home in his quest for sunshine and inspiration – taken from Steam Cream website.) Don’t be mistaken, there is only ONE cream type, but it comes in different tin designs (They have heaps of lovely designs!). The cream is hand-made in UK and Japan using 100% natural ingredients like oatmeal infusion, orange flower water, almond oil, cocoa butter, organic jojoba oil, lavender essential oil, chamomile blue essential oil, orange blossom absolute, rose absolute, and the list goes on (however it does contain parabens).

How I find it: I love the smell of the cream, it is a light, crisp lavender/chamomile which is not overwhelming at all (personally I don’t prefer lavender, but I love chamomile). The scent is really relaxing and it feel like I stepped into an aromatherapy spa! The white cream doesn’t look existing at all and is semi-fluid and very spreadable. The texture is light, yet moisturising. The cream is not oily, but it takes a little time to absorb, but after your skin absorbs it, your skin is soft and there is no sticky residue.

Overall: I thought it would’ve been too oily for my face because I do have combination skin (oily side), and would have to use it on my hand and body. BUT, I used it on my face yesterday in the day and night and my skin seems to love it It was not oily after a few hours of application (weather was sunny, about 20 Celsius, windy and dry). I applied just the cream and my usual sunscreen,  that’s it. No oil-controlling powder or creams. I was so surprised when I got home and looked in the mirror. I am wearing it today and it has been 6 hours, only a little bit of oil on my face. I’m not saying this is the most amazing cream ever for oily skin, but this is a great moisturiser for hydration and moisture. I love using it at night and treat it as a little aromatherapy treatment by giving myself a massage. I will definitely buy this!

What do you think about this Steam Cream and what design did you get?
