Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Where I got this: After hearing some good reviews on this mask on Youtube, websites and blogs, I decided to give this a try. I got this from eBay. The product is about $2USD, but the shipping was about $8USD. So it cost me about $10USD for this little tube. These are about $4-8 in the states but that’s for a bigger tube!

What is this: This is a 56.7g tube of Mint Julep masque by Queen Helene. This is good for drying up acne, pimples, black heads and shrinks enlarged pores. The mask is quite hard, so it takes some pressure to get the product out.

How I find it: I used this the other night after cleansing, the first squeeze went blasting onto my face because the mask is quite hard/thick. I think it would’ve been better in a tub (but I don’t like the unhygienic nature of things in a tub where you have to dig your fingers in). It smells of sweet mint, like chewing gum. It is green and looks exactly like the Body Shop Tea Tree mask. Leave that on for 10-15 minutes or until the mask dries. Wash off with warm water.

Overall: Upon application, it felt tingling on my skin, I had to use a couple of squeezes to cover my face. The mask dries at a ordinary pace. Like usual mud masks, where I applied it on my nose (where the pores are big) my pore will start producing oil thus making the mask look like it doesn’t dry over the pores. When I wash it off, the blackheads are still here and my spots are still there, but definitely reduced my oil production! Usually after washing my face, my nose and forehead will be oily (when I press the back of my hand to my forehead/nose, there will be oil). But after using this mask, I don’t have that happening.

I will try this mask a few more times before I do a final decision whether this is a repurchase or waste of money! Check out the photos below! Have you tried this mask and do you like it?

I’ve been using this for 20 years. I’m telling you- even as my skin changed, it still continues to work well. It takes a few applications to see a lot of blackheads gone but they will go!

Thanks for visiting! I’ve tried a few applications now and it does reduce the look of my blackheads! I also find using it with the Mario badescu silver powder beforehand works quite well!

The silver powder is a life saver. I forget I have that! I usually use a Biore strip after.
