L’Oréal Pure Clay Purifying Cream Wash

Where I got it: I got this from The Warehouse for $12.00. L’Oreal products are available in most places like Farmers, Kmart, Life Pharmacy, etc.

What I got: This is a 150ml tube of the L’Oréal Pure Clay Purifying Cream Wash. L’Oreal Paris Pure Clay Eucalyptus Purifying Cream Wash with a foaming cream formula perfectly cleanses and purifies skin while removing excess sebum. A unique combination of 3 pure clays + eucalyptus kaolin absorbs impurities and excess oil. montmorillonite purifies and re-balances the skin, reducing imperfections. GHASSOUL absorbs impurities and oil without causing irritation, leaving skin smooth, fresh and radiant. EUCALYPTUS deeply cleanses and mattifies the skin.

How I find it: This is a creamy face wash with clay. I dampen my face and hands, then squeeze about 10mm round of the product onto my hands, spread it out and massage onto my face. Oh, I forgot to mention that I always double cleanse so this is step 2 after I have removed all makeup. The cleanser doesn’t foam or lather up, but it kind of melts. After a bit of massaging, I rinse it off and it takes a little massaging to rinse off as well.

Then comes the problem. I always use a toner after washing my face with a cotton pad. I am currently using the Paula’s Choice Pore Refining toner and it does not contain any alcohol. I noticed some residue on my cotton pad and I thought I didn’t cleanse my neck or some areas thoroughly. Next time, I made sure I cleansed my neck as well, made sure my makeup is all off, etc. but still there was residue on the cotton pad. One day, I decided to use a different cleanser instead of this cream wash and no residue! Then I noticed that the residue on the cotton pad actually has a light green tint which is the same colour as the face wash! The cleanser doesn’t wash off entirely and stays on my face! If worse, in my pores!! Needless to say, I stopped using it all together.

Overall: I actually quite like their clay mask from their Pure Clay collection, but this is not my favourite cleanser. I prefer either a foaming cleanser or a milky cleanser for when my skin feels dry and irritated. Believe it or not, when my skin is irritated and breaking out with those under-the-skin, painful pimples, I like to use a gentle milky cleanser that is not greasy and oily. They can clean effectively while keeping my skin’s natural moisture levels in balance. Alright, back to the cream wash, I don’t feel that this face wash does a good job in cleaning my skin knowing that there is residue of this cleanser on my skin even after rinsing it all off. Sorry but, giving you away.
