Where I got it: I bought this from my local The Body Shop as I had a 20% discount for my birthday month. If you join their rewards system, they will update you on sales events, launches, in-store events and give you a discount on your birthday month. This is RRP$39.50.
What I got: This is a 50ml tub The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. This refreshing and mattifying facial moisturiser with aquasphere technology drenches skin with moisture for all day hydration. Leaving the skin feeling cooler and softer. Now formulated with plumping hyaluronic acid, wheat germ oil and vitamin E. Use as part of your personalised skincare programme. It is suitable for all skin types.
How I find it: The Vitamin E range has been available from The Body Shop for a long time but they recently revamped the collection, adding a few products in the range including this sorbet cream, night cream, serums, essence lotions, sleeping masks, etc. I was quite interested in a couple of the products in the range but since I have been pretty crazy with buying skincare, I need to lay off just a little bit. This here really attracted me because of its texture – sorbet. If you have used some of Body Shop’s body products before, you may have come across their Body Sorbet moisturisers. They are really lightweight moisturisers that are lightweight, non-greasy and feels fresh on the skin. This one is basically the same concept but for the face. You can use this on its own as a moisturiser, or as a hydration boosting gel underneath your heavier moisturising creams. As this has a slight mattifying and cooling effect, this will be great for oilier skins during summer months.
Overall: This sorbet cream has the most amazing texture. It almost feels like it is bunching up under your fingertips as you massage it into your skin, but it’s not at all. It also feels like the sorbet cream is turning into water as it melts onto your skin giving you that fresh feeling. The mattifying effect is not very significant, but it does contain dimethicone which kind of blurs out your skin slightly and makes it smooth to the touch. This cream is hydrating, not greasy, not heavy and has a pleasant scent (The Body Shop Signature Vitamin E scent). It is pretty much a dupe for the Clinique Moisture Surge cream which is at least double the price.
