Max Factor False Lash Epic Mascara Waterproof

Where I got it: I got this from Farmers while they were having a promotion for this particular mascara. This is RRP$36.99 and the promotion on offer was $25 for this mascara and $20 for all other mascaras from Max Factor. It has been a good 10 years that I used something from Max Factor and that was the Lipfinity lipstick (the 2-step long lasting lipstick with the clear lip balm top coat). Honestly, their products never really appealed to me in terms of packaging, nor have I heard much reviews or people walking about them

What I got: This is the Max Factor False Lash Epic Mascara Waterproof. This is an amped up version of their original False Lash Effect Mascara. It also comes in a non-waterproof version and black/brown colour. Designed to stand up to the zoom. The False Lash Epic brush with zoom action tip captures and magnifies every detail of every lash. No lash is left unseen.

  • The False Lash Epic brush captures and magnifies every single lash
  • The zoom action tip magnifies the lash fan to epic proportions
  • Bigger, bolder epic lashes no matter your lash type
  • A darker formula for a bolder look

How I find it: Initially I was attracted by the interesting wand with the spikey bits at the end but it turned out it was quite in the way of application. I do appreciate that it can do a bit of detail or pinpoint application but it was a little too big that it dotted mascara around my eye area and messed up my eye shadow. What I must do when using this mascara is that I need to wipe off the excess before applying to my lashes, then be really careful not to stab my eye with the top.

Top: 1 coat and natural lashes. Middle: 1 coat on both eyes. Bottom: 2 coats on both eyes.

Overall: I was quite drawn to the mascara wand. I like the rubbery bristles and the tip of the wand is something quite different and I don’t have anything like this. However, the wand itself was one of the biggest cons of this mascara – it is just too big for my eyes/lashes. The formula is great, it holds a curl, volumizes and is waterproof. I wore this mascara for at least 6 hours without flaking or smudging. Removal with a cleansing oil needed a little bit of work and may require a bit of q-tip touch up afterwards.

The Max Factor Masterpiece Transform mascara is one of my all-time favourites. It surprised me because I’ve never really felt drawn to any of their other products, either!

That’s nice to know, I might give that a try next time I’m in the market for a new mascara! I hope they come in waterproof version!
