YSL Volupte Tint in Balm

Where I got it: I got this from an auction on a facebook makeup group where the money goes to a selected charity. I got this along with the YSL Fusion Ink Blush for a total of $30! This has only been used once which is pretty much brand new! You can find these at Farmers, Smith & Caughey, etc. for RRP$66.00.

What I got: This is the YSL Volupte Tint in Balm in shade 4 Desire Me PinkThe unique melting 2-in-1 formula fuses the nourishing care of a balm with instantly radiant colour. Be flirtier, sexier, hotter: they are definitely not innocent! Volupte Tint-in-Balm leaves a kiss of tint with a just-bitten glow. Thanks to a unique double core, Volupte Tint-in-Balm comes with twice the benefits – then delivers a unique enhancing lip finish. Instantly, the outer shell delivers glowing sheer colour with a vivid yet transparent colour pay-off. During the day, the inner lips-shaped core diffuses a lasting kiss of tint – the more you apply and reapply, the more your lip colour intensifies on your lips for a just-bitten glow. Day after day, the nourishing formula promises melting balm care with each swipe.

How I find it: From the bullet, the fuschia shade looked very intimidating and is not the usual shade that I would go for. The cute lip shade inner moisturising core is slightly lighter in shade than the outer part, but the core should not give much pigmentation anyway. The first impression, I just went straight to town with it on my lips and to my surprise, the formula glided on like a lip balm and the pigment transferred onto my lips like a stain. It looks glossy on my lips and the pink shade looks beautiful. The intensity can be built up by applying multiple layers and the formula will not feel thick or sticky.

Overall: This lipstick really took me by surprise and I’m not sure why it did because YSL rarely does wrong with lip colours. I guess I was just a little intimidated with the fuschia shade. The moisturising texture made this lip balm very pleasing to use, the stain is even and long-lasting. I don’t have to worry about wonky applications, I don’t even need a mirror to apply this and it will look great effortlessly. It is moisturising for the duration of wear and it does not seep into lines or dry patches.
