Clarins gift with purchase

Where I got it: Clarins had a gift with purchase promotion going on at Farmers where you can choose from either the Hydrating Gift or the Energising Gift. I bought the Instant Eye makeup remover and the Instant Light Eye Perfecting Base.

What I got: This is a 6-piece Clarins Hydrating gift with purchase. It contains a majority of the HydraQuench collection from Clarins along with 2 body care products (a body cream and a body oil) and a lip oil. They are all really generous deluxe sized products.

How I find it:

Extra-Body Firming Body Cream (100ml). I have reviewed this body cream from Clarins before and I really like it. Here is the link to my first review.

Clarins Extra-firming Body Cream

Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase (15ml). It replenishes very thirsty skin and promotes soft, comfortable, radiant and matte skin.
Apply morning and/or evening to thoroughly cleansed face and neck. Gently press down working from the middle of the face outward, before applying the HydraQuench moisturiser best suited to your skin type.

This is a bi-phase serum which means this is part oil and part water based. The top part is an oil serum and the bottom is water-based in a 1:9 ratio. It comes in a pump bottle with a plastic lid to pump out the exact amount of product for one application. The texture of this serum is literally a mixture of oil and water with a light blue tint. After cleansing and toning, I apply one pump of this all over my face. It goes onto the skin a little oily, but it gets absorbed gradually without being greasy or oily. It has a pleasant and soothing scent as well. Might purchase this in full size when I finish some other serums in my drawers.

Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask (30ml). Katafray Bark extract attracts moisture to the skin then seals it in to smooth fine lines and restore a soft, supple texture. Sorbier Tree Bud stimulates micro-circulation, boosting cellular renewal for a healthy-looking glow.

I have been wanting to try this cream-mask and I quite like it. It has a thickish cream texture that goes onto the skin smoothly. After cleansing and toning, I apply a nice even layer all over my face or just around my cheeks where I am most dry/dehydrated. I will then apply a cleansing mask to my t-zone areas. After 5-10 minutes, I remove this mask with a few cotton rounds dampened with toner. No need to rinse off even for my combination skin. My skin feels smooth and hydrated, not sticky at all. This one would also be one that I would purchase the full product.

Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask

Clarins HydraQuench Cream (15ml). It restores its moisture balance and leaves an imperceptible silky, protective film which ensures beautiful-looking skin. Apply morning and evening on the face and neck, on clean, dry skin, and whenever skin is dehydrated and feels uncomfortable.

This cream states to be suitable for normal to dry skin (also comes in cream-gel for combination skin or rich cream for very dry skin. Plus one with SPF15). I have combination/oily skin and I really enjoyed using this for my drier areas (i.e. cheeks). It has a nice creamy texture that spreads easily without feeling thick/greasy. My skin feels hydrated and moisturised afterwards without feeling tacky or oily. Really like this along with the bi-phase serum. This is nice, but I have use other creams and moisturisers that does the same thing so I probably won’t purchase the full size item.

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil (30ml). Hazelnut Oil locks in moisture to leave body skin soft and satiny smooth. Aromatic natural botanicals promote an overall feeling of well-being. Preservative-free. Especially recommended for use during pregnancy and weight loss.

I already bought a full-sized version of this body oil soon after I gave birth to my second baby. I had a few stretch marks on the front part of my belly and I wanted to reduce them. This body oil feels quite luxurious on the skin and it is a medium thickness (not too runny and not too thick like baby oil). It takes a bit of time to sink into the skin so it would rub off a little onto clothing or furniture, etc. However, the oil makes your skin feel protected and deeply moisturised. A great oil for stretch marks prevention.

Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil

Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Honey (2.8ml). All the power of plant oils infused in a lip treatment to nourish and enhance its beauty. A truly revolutionary formula. A unique fusion formula rich in plant active ingredients, directly inspired by the expertise of Clarins face and body oils. Also in Raspberry and Red Berry.

I am already using this lip oil in Honey and I love it. I wished this gift was in a different shade so I could try a different shade from Honey. I already put one on my bedside table as I like to apply this before bedtime. I find it really protective to my lips and I love wearing this during the night to hydrate my lips the entire night. I will keep this one in my handbag or I will give this to my sister to try.

Overall: Gift with purchase are awesome. As soon as I saw this offer on the Clarins’ Facebook page, I went to my local Farmers the next day to get it. I am really impressed with the HydraQuench range as it does offer a cream-gel for combination skin. The serum and mask are really comfortable to use without being greasy or oily. Such a nice way to try out skincare products before you purchase full size, it is also great for travel too.
