Clarins Chinese New Year gift with purchase

Where I got it: I have recently been so interested in Clarins’ products lately purely because I’ve been using their Multi-active day and night creams and I find them very good for my skin. There was less breakout, my skin felt smooth and plump, radiant and generally healthy and fresh-looking. So while I recently purchased some products at my local Clarins counter at Life Pharmacy in Botany, I got the contacts off the SR that helped me with the product selection. Selina was a very nice Chinese lady who knew what my concerns are and is not pushy to sell products that I don’t need. She updates me via WeChat to alert me of the latest offers, discounts and promotions. This promotion offers this gift with purchase when you buy either the 50ml Double Serum or the Shaping Facial Lift. I have a bottle of the Double Serum already so I went for the Shaping Facial Lift (honestly who doesn’t want their face more lifted, especially when I’m already in my 30s). I will review the Shaping Facial Lift in another post.

What I got: This is a 4-piece gift worth over $100 in value. Usually, GWPs are offered when you purchase 2 or more products but with this one, you only need to purchase one which I think is quite a nice deal if you wanted to restock it try a new product. This gift pack comes with a 100ml Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate, a 50ml bottle of Relax Body Treatment Oil, a small tube of the Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Honey and a 10ml sample tube of the Shaping Facial Lift.

How I find it:

Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate (full size 200ml for $53). Get every inch of body skin into sleek, show-off shape — toned, refined and beautifully conditioned! This concentrated cleansing treatment activates with the heat of a warm bath or shower — releasing the invigorating, aromatic virtues Rosemary, Mint and Geranium. Extracts of Gentian and Pine cleanse and refine. The light-weight lather is gentle enough for the most sensitive skin.

I used this as a shower gel which I dispense a small amount (about 2cm radius is plenty) and lather it up all over my body. The scent is quite uplifting but I wouldn’t call it my favourite. As a concentrate, it really does go a long way and lather up quite nicely. It washes off easily without feeling slippery or greasy. The scent lingers on slightly which is quite pleasant.

Relax Body Treatment Oil (full size 100ml for $86). Clarins’ best-selling body oil with 100% pure plant extracts including Rosemary, Geranium and Mint helps firm, tone and improve elasticity, smoothing the appearance of stretch marks.

I have been loving body oils mainly because I’ve just given birth (2 months ago) to a lovely baby boy and I have a few stretch marks in the centre of my belly which I’m trying to get rid of. This body oil is really luxurious and smells quite therapeutic with geranium. It comes in a glass bottle with a wide opening and a plastic screw cap. I have previously bought a full sized version of Clarins’. Hopefully, their products will help with my stretch marks.

I have heard of this product from YouTube beauty gurus and have also seen this advertised on Facebook, etc. Most of them are good reviews on how nourishing this oil is and how comfortable it felt. I personally quite like this as it feels gel-like on the lips, smells amazing and nourishing to my lips without causing peeling or cracking! It is slightly tacky to the touch with a finger but not when your purse your lips together. Honey is pretty much a clear gloss on the lips while raspberry and red berry give a bit of colour which is very pretty. Love this, I might get the red berry one when I finish this.

Shaping Facial LiftI have a full-sized version of this Facial Lift Serum so I’m just going to give the first impression of this here. This 10ml sample is quite generous because the full sized product is only 50ml. The lotion-serum is white in colour and feels quite light on the skin. Not greasy and not thick at all. Using the specific Clarins application technique, you press the product into the skin and let it absorb. This little tube will last me at least a week if I use it day and night. It will take a while to see lifting and slimming results.

Overall: Awesome gift pack in a really lovely toiletry bag, too bad it’s only for a limited time. However, Clarins always have really good gift with purchase offers and gift packs so it won’t be long until another offer comes by. I have fallen in love with the lip oil and it retails for $44 for the full sized product. I am also quite impressed with the shower and bath concentrate but it would be quite an expensive shower gel in my opinion.
