Darphin Rose Aromatic Care Oil

How I find it: I use this in the morning and I use the 8-Flower Nectar at night simply because this is a more lightweight oil in comparison. After cleansing, I apply my Paula’s Choice 2% BHA exfoliant, then any serums or essence lotions, then I apply a drop of this oil to my forehead, centre of my face, each cheek and my chin area. Sometimes I use an extra drop on my neck area. Refer to my review on the 8-Flower Nectar on how I dispense these oils from the bottle here. I gently massage this in circular, outward motions. Then I give it about 30 seconds to absorb and I apply a day moisturiser and sunscreen over it. It doesn’t react strangely with my moisturiser and neither does it make my skin really oily or greasy-looking.

Overall: This is a very nice oil to use during the day as it is not greasy and doesn’t leave an oily film on my skin. It works well under the sunscreen I put on and even the foundation as well. It adds an extra boost of hydration and moisture when applied on top of my moisturiser. It seals in all the benefits of the moisturiser and prevents the dry air sucking moisture from my skin. It doesn’t smell much like roses, but I don’t really mind. However, I don’t really find much difference between this and the 8-Flower Nectar in terms of hydration and moisturisation. I guess the 8-Flower Nectar has some anti-aging properties when used long-term, but I can’t really judge yet.
