Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Aromatic Dry Oil

Where I got it: I got this on Strawberrynet.com for NZD$168.00. I had a 7.5% loyalty discount and a 20% renewal loyalty discount to use so the order came to a total of $121.80. I ordered this on 10th June and it was delivered to me on 20th June. Not too bad!

Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Aromatic Dry Oil

What I got: This is a 15ml bottle of Darphin 8 Flower Nectar Aromatic Dry OilRejuvenating elixir, in the pure tradition of aromatherapy, blends rare and radiance boosting aromatic essences from 8 precious flowers. Opulent formula with anti-oxidants, nourishes and helps smooth the look of lines and wrinkles, firm skin and renew skin suppleness, resilience and youthful radiance, key evidence of truly, younger-looking skin. With an exquisitely feminine, sensual fragrance that could double as a perfume, it is the quintessential holistic beauty care that creates a feeling of overall beauty and well-being while rejuvenating skin’s appearance.

How I find it: It is designed to be used at night time before your moisturiser, but I also like to use it over my moisturiser to seal in all the goodness. After my usual night time routine, I apply a hydrating serum and apply 5 drops of this oil all over my face and massage in gentle circular motions. The little bottle doesn’t have a restrictor cap at the top so it is quite easy to pour out too much. So I use my middle finger to cover the opening and tip it upside down to get some product onto my fingertips, dip it onto my forehead, 2 cheeks, nose and chin. Then I massage. I don’t think I will ever pour it into my hands because that is a bit too risky in my opinion. It is absorbed relatively quickly without feeling too greasy on my combination skin. It feels like a slight barrier on the skin and my skin feels moisturised.

Overall: First of all, it smells AMAZING – like I’m having a facial done! If you love floral scents, you will LOVE this stuff. Secondly, although this is a little bottle of 15mls, this will last for a long time if you use only 5 ‘drops’ like I mentioned above every night. This oil is moisturising and nourishing to my combination skin which has become rather dry lately. Either due to my pregnancy hormonal changes or its the wintery cold. I love how this feels on my skin before or after moisturiser. When I wake up, my skin feels really soft and supple. No dryness and no oiliness too! It seems to have balanced my skin’s dryness and oiliness which is amazing. Does not clog my pores so I have not seen more breakouts and blackheads than before. It is on the pricey side, so I would say a more affordable alternative would be Rosehip Oil from Trilogy or Divine Face Oil from Antipodes.
