Unani Micellar Water (RRP$22.50 for 200ml from www.unani.es). Unani Micellar Water has a refreshing, soft and clean solution that removes impurities and purifies the skin leaving it soft and hydrated. Apply during morning and evening using a cotton pad. It doesn’t require rinsing.

This has a press-down flip-up top for dispensing the product inside. The micellar water is clear – feels and looks like water. It has a pleasant scent that is not over-powering and once it gets onto a cotton pad, I feel that is glides onto my skin very smoothly and removes makeup really effectively (excluding waterproof mascara). For a full face of makeup with liquid foundation, eyeliner, blush, highlighter, etc. I need to use around 4 cotton rounds to remove all the makeup (I remove waterproof mascara separately). Then I cleanse my skin with my usual cleanser. It doesn’t leave my skin too dry or still sticky. I can go home, remove my makeup without washing my face, then I will wash my face at the end of the day when I take a shower. My face won’t feel taut or dry or greasy at all.

Hikari Blush in Bikini (RRP$21 from www.hikaricosmetics.com). Designed to highlight your complexion, our weightless blush can be used lightly for a fresh look or layered for a dramatic look! An effortless application to the cheekbones that lasts all day! Bikini is a pinky peach with light shimmer.

Initially, I was a little worried about the blush colour being another boring mauve that wouldn’t look so interesting for summer time, but when I opened the box, the coral coloured blush took my eyes and I immediately swatched it on the back of my hand and really liked it! It is not chalky or patchy. It goes on really nice with a blush brush and quite pigmented. It’s got a slight sheen, but not shimmery/sparkly.

Hikari Lip Crayon in Macchiato (RRP$18 from www.hirakicosmetics.com). The rich, highly pigmented colours can be as noticeable as you want to be for any event of occasion.

When I saw the Macchiato shade name, I was expecting a more pinkish looking brown, but on the first swatch it is actually quite and tan brown! This is a shade that I don’t have at all in any form so I am quite interested in trying this out. As you may know, browns and chocolate lip color is quite trendy at the moment. However, since we are in the heat of summer in Auckland, I might just leave this for a while until autumn…

Skinyoga Sandalwood Saffron Face Mask 5g sample (RRP$24 for 50g full size from www.skinyoga.in). The goodness of sandalwood will reverse the signs of aging and gradually remove wrinkles and dark spots. Saffron will improve skin texture and also natrually make skin lighter and more radian. The antioxidants found in walnuts are essential to skin regeneration and elasticity. Walnuts also include chemicals that help boost circulation, bringing oxygen and nutrients to your skin cells quickly. Take one teaspoon of mask powder and add a few drops of water to make a thick paste. Apply on your face and leave it to dry completely. Massage and rinse with plain water.

These little skincare products come in a cute little glass jar with a cork and packaged in a tiny little wooden box. They are so cute but so small! I think one jar of this mask would only be one application. However, I poured a little bit on my hand and activated it with water and it turned into this paste-form. You apply it to your face and wait for 3-5 minutes and wash off. It smells very ‘natural’. Can’t really see skin benefits out of one use though.

Skinyoga Almond Orange Face Scrub 5g sample (RRP$24 for 50g full size from www.skinyoga.in). The goodness of almonds and orange works wonders to cleanse and repair your skin. It hydrate and exfoliates mildly to give a smooth skin and a flawless complexion. You will be able to tell the higher quality of the ingredients on your very first use. Prepare and appy as for cleansing and leave for 15-20minutes or until skin begins to feel tight. Rinse and follow with moisturiser.

Another one from Skinyoga and this is a face scrub. The ingredients are yellow with brown specks and with the mixture with water, it turns into a paste-like consistency. It feels so good on the skin and smells really nice too! It is not abrasive at all and feels gentle on the skin. I can feel that my skin is smoother and not sensitive after using the scrub. One bottle will give about 2 generous applications I would say.

Overall: Very interesting products in this month’s box/bag. Really liked the makeup products too in terms of their color and the type of product they are. Unexpectedly quite like the Skinyoga products because of their ingredients and the texture! The value of the full sized products comes to $61.50 which far exceeds the cost of this box/bag.
