Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow

Where I got it: I have seen Youtube beauty gurus on Youtube raving about this – including my favourite Rae from The Raeviewer! So when I got my Custom FX Custom Cover Drops I decided to drop this into my shopping cart as well! I got this from Beautylish.com and I got it for USD$68.00 which is about NZD $105 and that is definitely a splurge for me!

What I got: This is Charlotte Tilbury’s Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Light to Medium (also comes in Medium to Dark for darker skintone). With FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW you can slim, sculpt, shorten, trim and highlight your features. It’s amazing what clever shading and highlighting tricks can do to your facial framework – it’s an illusion that I use all the time, particularly for red carpet scrutiny, and my clients can’t get enough of it. Take what you were born with and maximise your assets with FILMSTAR BRONZE & GLOW!

• The bronzer is the perfect universal blend of pearl and pigment to contour features and mimic a sun-kissed complexion.

• The highlighter is built up from a golden base that flatters any skin tone, and uses Light Flex Technology to capture light and radiate it out for a luminous complexion.

• Colour-rich pigments are rolled into elastomer pearls that smooth & buff the skin for excellent blendability & perfect colour uniformity.

How I find it: First of all, I have to mention the beautiful packaging – the rose gold compact, the large mirror and even the paper packaging that comes with it! Beautiful to put in my vanity, my purse, anywhere basically! After my foundation and blush makeup, I use an angled bronzing brush that is not too big to pick up the bronzer, tap off the excess and apply to the hollows of my cheeks and around my temples. It doesn’t give a harsh contour/line effect, but it does give a really nice bronzing effect that looks natural (provided that you do not over apply). I noticed that there are micro-shimmers in the bronzer so that will give you a glowing bronze look.  The highlighter on the other hand is quite gentle and soft focus. Same tip as the bronzer – do not apply too much. I usually swirl it once for each cheekbone area and that will be enough – it gives a soft glow and highlight to the area so that the high points are highlighted but not shimmery/sparkly.

Overall: Absolutely beautiful packaging and beautiful product as well, however it is quite expensive for a highlighter and a bronzer and I think there should be more affordable products out there that could do the job just as good. Not saying that this is not worth the money at all. It looks great on the skin and the texture is so fine and soft it is not chalky on the skin whatsoever and it stays on the skin very well. It doesn’t get caught on dry patches or lines and the bronzer doesn’t make my skin look dirty. It is very high quality therefore I do not regret buying this at all and would love to try more of Charlotte Tilbury’s products!
