How I find it: I use a small spatula to scrape some of the cleansing balm (about half a teaspoon) and apply to my dry skin directly. Massage to melt the balm and work on areas like my mascara, my brows, and the rest of my face. I then wet the cloth, wring it to still damp and gently wipe the balm along with any makeup off. I repeat the wash, wring and wipe until I don’t see any makeup residue of the cloth. I then use a normal facial cleanser to cleanse my face and wipe with the same cloth.

Overall: This cleansing balm is luxurious. It smells and feels amazing on the skin. It is a little difficult to scoop from the tub especially in winter when it goes quite solid. Initially I thought the balm would emulsify and wash off like a cleansing oil but it didn’t. I had to wipe it off with a cleansing cloth. Needless to say, you need to wash the cloth after each use and deep clean regularly. Also replaced after 3 months. It effectively removes my face makeup like foundation, blush, highlighters and brows. However, when it comes to my eye makeup it needs a bit of work. I wear waterproof mascaras and long-wearing liquid eyeliner so they are a bit harder to remove. I concentrate on those areas and use my fingertips to massage lightly. Then I use the cloth to remove my mascara. I find that I need a few rubs and wipes to get rid of all the eyeliner and mascara thus makes my cloth really dirty. I would always use my cleanser afterwards and also wipe it off with my cloth just to give my skin a good deep clean. When I step out of the shower, I will need to use a cotton bud soaked with micellar water to clean around my eye area. I like the balm on my face makeup, but for my eye area, I would prefer an eye makeup remover or even use my trusty cleansing oil – does the trick instantly.
