Dr. Hauschka Night Serum launch

Last week, bloggers were invited to a very interesting and relaxing event at the Clarian Room in Freemans Bay hosted by barepr for the launch of Dr. Hauschka’s Night Serum.

Upon arrival, the room was decorated with apples, floral installations and the whole place was warm and cosy. We were offered either apple tea or apple juice with our apply muffin (yummy!) while we take a seat down at a bean bag.

We had a short but informative presentation about the Dr. Hauschka Night Serum ($75.00 (25ml))- using the power of Rosen apple blossoms and fruit to stimulate the natural renewal processes and revitalise the skin. Just like the blossom of spring, the Rosen apple blossom invites the skin to open for its nightly renewal process and infuses the skin with the powers of the blossoms and fruits in the Dr. Hauschka Night Serum.

Dr. Hauschka New Night Serum launch at Clarians Room

While we are resting, our skin begins an important period of regenerative renewal. Dr. Hauschka Night Serum gives the skin an optimal boost and supports its nightly regenerative processes, letting it breathe freely with the fast absorbing delicate oil-free serum whilst maintaining the skin’s moisture levels and leaving it smooth.

At night, the skin doesn’t need to be protected from outside influences; instead, it benefits from optimised conditions for self-regeneration, renewing its cells and eliminating metabolic wastes from organs that activate at night. Dr. Hauschka night care stimulates the skin and boosts its natural activity, allowing it to breathe deeply, open fully and use the time for regeneration.

After the presentation of the new night serum, we had a hypnotherapist to teach us a thing or two about how to relax ourselves and get some quality sleep. We all had to close our eyes and concentrate on her voice and the things that she says and relax ourselves in the bean bag. After 15 minutes of therapy, we were all pretty drowsy (at least I was!)!

Inside our Dr. Hauschka goodie bag

Everyone left with a little goodie bag with the new Dr. Hauschka Night Serum, a cinnamon and apple raw fruit bar (so good!) and a pack of organic Nighty Night relaxation tea.

How I find it: So I have been using this for a week now with the recommended instructions even though using my own cleanser and toner. So in the evening, I remove my makeup/sunscreen with an oil cleanser, then I use a gentle facial cleanser to cleanse my skin, then I apply Estee Lauder Micro Essence Lotion generously to make my skin very moist. Then I squeeze a pea-size amount of this night serum, spread it between my palms and press onto my skin. Then I just smooth the rest all over my face and neck. After that, no moisturiser, no serums and I go to bed.

Dr. Hauschka Night Serum – dries down quick

Overall: This serum has a very watery light texture and it has a slight scent that is quite a signature of Dr. Hauschka. The cap of this tube has a rather nice design to make sure thingsare fresh and you don’t need to peel off any seals to begin using it. Simply screw the cap in the direction indicated and the cap will go down, piercing the seal under it and then unscrew the cap and you are ready to go! Don’t worry, there is instructions in the box in form of images so it is easy to follow. Let’s get back to the serum itself.. you need to make sure your skin is moist – either from a watery treatment lotion like I have used, or from your hydrating toner (not alcohol-laden ones!). This will ensure the night serum seals in the moisture and sink into your skin. Use just a pea-sized amount and don’t try to use more than required because you are worried that your skin will dry out if you don’t use more – it will just get tighter the more your use! After the serum is absorbed, its leaves a bit of a tight feeling on the skin (in the next morning when I wash my face, it does leave a film on top. But it is easily rinsed off). I just go to bed and ignore it.  I asked the question with the Dr. Hauschka expect at the event if someone has really dry skin and relys on heavy creams at night, would this be unsuitable for them? Her recommendation is: after removing makeup and before cleansing,  do a hot cloth compress then follow with cleanse, toner and night serum. That would allow the skin to absorb moisture and the night serum will do its work on top.

I personally have combintation/oily so I do experience dryness/tight-feeling around my cheek area in the middle of the night, but if you have dry skin and have tried this night serum, mind sharing your thoughts?
