Unboxing Lust Have It May 2015

Where I got it: I was sent the May issue of Lust have it! subscription service. Lust have it is a subscription service providing beauty samples. For $19.90 each month, you will receive 5-6 deluxe sample sized beauty products where at least one of them will be full sized! Recently they have changed their packaging from a pretty red mesh cosmetics bag into a foldable cardboard box. Firstly, I don’t use the mesh bag much so I either give them away or I just throw them in the bin. For this cardboard container, I can recycle it! Good and bad I guess?

What I got: This is the May issue of the Lust have it! It comes in a glossy black foldable cardboard ‘box’ and a card containing all the information of the products in the box. This month is is a mixture of skincare and makeup with brands that are new to me and brands I have tried previously. Let’s take a look what’s inside this month’s bag/box!

How I find it:

Bloom Liquid Foundation Brush ($35 from www.bloomcosmetics.com). Perfect partner to any liquid foundation. This lightweight brush will allow easy application, leave you with flawless looking skin and reduce product wastage.   I have tried products from this brand, but since they don’t seem to sell this in New Zealand anymore, I have lost interest in it. Personally I seldom use foundation and much less with a foundation brush. I usually use either my fingers or a blending sponge or a flat top foundation brush. Anyway, let’s look at this brush. It is a flat foundation brush with a tapered end with synthetic fibres. Synethetic fibres soak up much less product than natural fibres so I would synthetic fibres for liquid foundation anyway. It is soft and silky to the touch.

Soak Hair Shine Shampoo and Hair Revive Conditioner (deluxe size samples. $24.95 each for 500ml full size. Available at www.soakskin.com). Soak Hair Shine Shampoo is enriched with Maca Root, the Incas Superfood which provides and abundance of nutrients including Vitamin B5, calcium and zinc. Soak Hair Revive Conditioner is develope with Purple Kale, a celebrated superfood with one of the highest concentrations of nutriends including Vitamin A, Vitamin K and manganese.   Nothing much in particular with the shampoo and conditioner. It doesn’t seem to do any bad things to my hair, but neither does it improve my hair much. I think I will stick with my Mythic Oil range for now.

Helps to restore skin’s moisture balance to help relieve dehydration in thirsty skin. Easily absorbed without greasy residue. Suitable for all skin types.  An ordinary body lotion, but smells quite nice! Good size for a few days of travel or in the handbag.

Hola Seaweed Moisturising Toner (150mL $17.95-$24.95. Available soon at www.lusthaveit.com.au). Say Hello to Hola a new skincare and cosmetics brand available soon at the Lust have it! store. 7 products in this range including an eye cream, a mask, repair cream, moisturising essence, lotion and a honey anti-wrinkle cream.   Was quite excited about this full sized toner. First of all, I love the timber-look lid and the sea-green colour.

Coconut Revolution Coconut Hand Cream Original ($19.95 for 150mL from www.coconutrevolution.com.au). This indispensable hand cream with an alluring oriental, floral fragrance will leave your skin feeling fresh and pure. Your hands will be left feeling softer, silky and smooth from the goodness of 100% cold-pressed virgin, organic coconut oil.  Quite an ordinary hand cream but smells amazing of coconuts! The smell lingers on for a long time and reminds me of Fiji! Nice.

Lonvitalite 24K Active Face Mask and Eye Mask ($9.95 each at www.lonvitalite.com.au). Face mask: Provides immediate intense cooling and soothing relieft. Highly moisturising and nourishing; smoothing out wrinkles, and hydrating the skin.   Eye Mask. Removes lines and supplies water and nutrients for the skin cells leaving the skin more evenly pigmented and soft. Both items have been noted with: please use within 3 months of recieving.   I was not particularly interested in the Lonvitalite masks to start with, but I was a little intrigued with the 24k gold ingredient hoping that the sheet mask would be gold in colour, or with gold dusts/shimmer (even if it is not real gold). But upon opening the packet, no gold at all – it was a white sheet mask with clear gel-like essence. 🙁

Overall: This month’s bag has a good mixture of skincare, makeup and body/hair care. Honestly I was a little disappointed to see Lonvitalite products again because I have tried their masks before even though this is a different mask. I was also not so interested in the shampoo, conditioner and body lotion samples, but it turns out the body lotion was quite nice. The coconut hand cream was something that I needed and it was great to be in my hand bag or in my office drawer. The most exisitng thing for me was the Moisturising Toner by Hola – I love the packaging and the product is pretty nice! Overall, I have no idea exactly how much the box is valued at. But if you think about the Bloom foundation brush is RRP $35, and the box is only $19.95.
