Australis Mix It Colour Correction Foundation

Where I got it: I was sent this for consideration. You can purchase Australis Cosmetics products from Farmers, Kmart and leading pharmacies for RRP $18.90.

What I got: This is a tube of Australis Mix It Colour Correction Foundation in. Natural Beige. It comes in a total of 6 different shades – Nude, Beige, Natural Beige, Natural Fawn, Natural Tan and Golden Tan.  3 colour correction crusaders (Yellow, Mauve and Green) are here to play just in time for winter, and here to stay as the new must have foundation from Australis. here’s bulk goodness in the formula, with our ingredient faves like Argan Oil to hydrate and nourish the skin, and Pomegranate Extracts that are full of antioxidants & vitamins. Liqurice Root Extract is included to help clear acne prone skin, blemishes be gone! SPF25 to protect skin from the sun, while Vitamin E and Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil add much needed moisture and conditions your skin. The foundation is water based, creamy, lightweight and provides medium to full coverage with a natural satin finish.

How I find it: I have used this with and without a primer. It really depends what kind of primer you use, but so far, none of my primers have that rolling effect with this foundation. I love squeezing the product on my fingertips or the back of my hand, then I dot the foundation onto my face and I blend it in with a damp blending sponge (loving the one I got from Za!). With pressing and dabbing motion, I work the foundation onto my skin and it gives a really glowing satin finish to the skin and provides a nice medium coverage. A second layer would provide full coverage, but that would be too heavy for me. I like to powder my t-zone after the foundation to set everything and to mattify some areas. I do use this under my dark circles so I don’t need to apply a concealor.

Overall: The bottle is easy to use, it is a soft squeezy plastic tube with a black lid that you cannot drop and break. The formula is not too think and not too creamy, the shade seems perfect and is a neutral shade – not on the yellow side and not on the pink side. It gives a really nice satin finish that gives my skin a moisturised look, but in time it can look a little oily on my skin, so I need to powder and set the foundation. It helps with color-correcting, and my main concern would be my redness on my cheeks from breakouts and broken capillaries. It does a nice job in calming that down, but does not make it disappear. Not the best in oil control so in around 3-4 hours, the foundation starts to slide on my oily skin and I usually have to blot and powder to keep it intact. But overall, this foundation is quite enjoyable to use!
