Cherry Black Facial Sunscreen Lotion SPF30

Where I got it: I was sent this for consideration. This is exclusive to the Skin Institute and it has an introductory offer of $79.95, but is normally RRP $114.95.

What I got: This is a 100ml tube of Cherry Black Facial Sunscreen Lotion SPF30Developed in association with leading experts at the Skin Institute, a brand new sunscreen has blossomed and is causing a ripple of excitement. Containing three natural active ingredients, Cherry Black Facial Sunscreen (SPF30) helps to protect, restore and renew the skin. “Unlike other creams and lotions on the market, Cherry Black Facial Sunscreen provides very high sun protection, has no added fragrance and is not bleached, so retains its naturally pale pink colour.” Luxurious in texture and light to apply, it’s absorbed quickly into the skin and because it is non-whitening and non-greasy, it’s perfect to wear either under make up or alone. It is fragrance free, paraben free and not tested on animals.

Main ingredients:

  • Zinc Oxide – places an invisible barrier between your skin and the harmful UVA and UVB rays, which cause early ageing and damage to your skin
  • Natural Cherry Plant Extract – a rich and powerful plant extract that supports the restoration of the skin’s structure
  • Vitamin B – reduces fine lines and age spots

Cherry Black Facial Sunscreen Lotion SPF30

How I find it: After moisturising, I use about a pea size of this sunscreen all over my face. I use another pea size for my neck and décolletage area. Let that sink in and apply my makeup as per normal. I seldom reapply sunscreen lotion during the day because they can get really sticky and thick. However, this sunscreen doesn’t have that heavy feeling and none of that white cast which you really have to rub in to get rid of, so apply this sunscreen can be dabbed in lightly without creating a thick layer on top.

Overall: I absolutely swear by wearing a sunscreen of at least SPF30 during the day whether it is sunny, overcast, raining or if I will be in the office the entire day. UV rays are the number one cause of ageing. I have enough acne scars on my face I don’t need more sunspots and dark spots thank you very much. This sunscreen lotion feels creamy when squeezed out from the tube, but as soon as I spread it between my palms, it feels like and easy to blend. On the face, it is not hard to move and it doesn’t have the white mask, yucky smell and thick texture as you would get in a normal sunscreen. If you are worried about these dry-to-the-touch lightweight sunscreen will dry out your skin, you don’t need to. This provides a good balance of moisture to the skin without feeling heavy or pore-clogging. It is a pricey sunscreen though, so grab it while it is on introductory offer!
