What I got: I was sent a pair of SlapseeTM Sunnies. Slapsee Sunnies are a brand new style of sunglasses with a revolutionary design.  Invented and designed in New Zealand, the ground-breaking frames combine a special hinging nose-bridge with silicone-coated metal arms to allow the sunglasses to be ‘slapped’ around a wearer’s wrist or ankle, steering wheel, handlebars or anything else. The world-first design, which is also fun to use, provides an innovative alternative for carrying our sunnies around, rather than balancing them on top of your head or tucked into a collar. Comfortable to wear and durable, SlapseeTM Sunnies feature a contemporary frame style and are offered in a choice of six smart colours – coral (red), radiant blue, hot pink, mustard (yellow), charcoal and black. The frames are made from durable lightweight nylon with the unique folding arms covered in tactile silicone. The polycarbonate (PC) lenses have an anti-UV grade of UV 400, which blocks 100% of harmful UV rays.

Managing Director of SlapseeTM Sunnies, Ashleigh Ogilvie-Lee commented; ‘Sunglasses come in many styles but real innovation in their design is rare. SlapseeTM are a brand new concept of sunnies that focus as much on how they look and feel to wear, as how fun and practical they are for active lifestyles.’

How I find it: I was fighting between red and charcoal but I went for charcoal at the end because I want to be able to match it with many outfits. Red seems to be a little too bright and colorful for some of my clothes. The sunnies came folded up in its little soft cloth pouch with instructions on how to unfold the little thing. First you unroll the templars so they are snap straight. Then holding the frame around the lens and unfold the bridge until they click into place. Then it is ready to wear! Once in place, gently snap the templar tips so that it grabs onto your head and it doesn’t stick out. To remove, I gently unroll the templar tips slightly, then lift it off. I can either snap the sunnies onto my steering wheel, my wrist or on my bag handles!

Overall: These sunnies are super convenient! I like to slap them around my bag handles when I’m out, on my wrist when I’m taking a walk. Even if you don’t have to slap them around your wrists, these are so compact to just pop into your handbag or your glovebox! These sunnies looks really trendy and at the same time casual. It will suit a lot of different outfits and that’s why I went with charcoal – it is so versatile! Even though the bridge of my nose is rather flat being a typical Asian, sunnies or glasses without nose pads can slip down easily which can be a pain. However, by gently snapping the templar tips so that it grabs onto your head, it holds the sunnies in place very well! One down-side on these sunnies is that I find that the arms are a bit too wide and the silicon-texture tends to grab onto my hair when I remove them -thus I need to remove them carefully so not to mess up my hair.
