What I got: This is Karen Murrell lipstick in 19 Racy Rata. Racy Rata is the newest addition to Karen Murrell lipstick range – motivated during a breathtaking road trip through the South Island, surrounded by enchanting Rata trees bursting with vibrantly colored berry-red flowers. This is Karen’s description of Racy Rata: magnetic bright raspberry-red shade which leaves lips with an admiring berry stained pout ready to race out the door.

How I find it: I use a lip balm before this lipstick to give it a bit more slip because this lipstick is quite pigmented and can be a little dry when first applied. With the help of a lip balm, the lips are primed and the lipstick pigment glides on easier and will not catch into dry areas that much. Exfoliating also helps.

Overall: I have tried many other Karen Murrell lipsticks and I always have one in my handbag. During Winter, I love to wear something red, now Spring and Summer is coming I would switch it up to a pink or orange toned lipstick. I have always loved a orange/coral toned lip colour, whether it is a lip gloss of a lip tint. So Coral Dawn has come at the right time! I can’t wait to rock this shade all the time!
