Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF 20

Where I got it: I got this from Strawberrynet.com while they had a 10% off all makeup. This foundation is originally NZD$75.00, with my 7.5% loyalty discount ($5.63), 10% off makeup ($7.50) and my eBates cash back ($2.10) it came to a total of $59.77. Saving me $15.23!

What I got: This is a bottle of Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation with SPF 20. This lightweight liquid foundation comes in 12 shades and I was going with my gut feeling and a bit of indication from Raeview for shade selection. I got this in shade 5.5 which is the perfect colour for me. This high resistance water-based liquid foundation provides a lovely lasting matte finish that is medium coverage buildable to full coverage. It comes in a frosted glass bottle with a plastic black lid. Pull off the black lid and you get a plastic black pump.

How I find it: The first time I used it I did not apply any primer and I went straight for 2 pumps on the back of my hand. I then used my fingers to apply all over my face. Applying with fingers is quite good and it achieves light to medium coverage. I then use a little bit more on areas I need more coverage like my acne scars. Second time, I used a primer and applied with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush. While both methods achieves the same finish, I think applying with the brush achieves better coverage but will use more product. As for longevity, applying a primer and setting powder can extend the makeup, but the difference is not much.

Overall: I love the frosted glass bottle it comes in and with a pump, but I can tell that there will be heaps of product left in the bottle when the pump can’t pump anymore out. So I’ll have to find a way to scrap it out. In terms of coverage, this foundation provides medium to full coverage if you go for a second layer. It gives a natural matte finish and is lightweight on the skin. It is more suitable for combination/oily skin rather than dry skin. For longevity, it can last a good 4-5 hours on my combination/oily skin before sebum shines through, and about 6-7 hours before it starts to move around and fade.
