How I find it: So what’s a softening lotion? Softening lotions are a new type of toner. Similar to traditional toners, they complete the cleansing routine by removing residual cleanser, impurities and make-up. However softening lotions are totally non-astringent, leaving skin feeling immediately soft and hydrated. Bridging the gap between cleansing and moisturising, a softening lotion offers a little bit of each and more besides. After cleansing, pour a small amount onto a cotton pad and smooth over the face as you would a normal toner. This can be used morning and night. Does not dry out the skin like some toners with alcohol tends to do.

Overall: I love the texture of this toner, it has a satiny-gel consistency which goes on the skin like a serum than a toner. It hydrates my skin instantly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky. The bottle is a little squeeze-y so it is easy to get the product out from the small hole at the top. Besides using this as a toner with a cotton pad, I would use this as a lotion – just apply directly onto the skin with fingertips. Otherwise I would pour it onto thin cotton pads and put it onto my dry areas like an intensive hydrating patch mask (you got to make sure you are using the thin type of cotton pads, not the type you use to apply toner. They are 2 quite different things).
