What I got: This is Karen Murrell Lipstick in #18 Sugar Rush. Inspired by the days of disco when everything was all about being super cool, hairstyles were larger than life colours were psychedelic, end glitter seem to be everywhere. It contains avocado oil to provide lips with hydration and protection, Cinnamon to plump lips to make them look fuller and Evening primrose oil rich in omega 6 to soothe and moisturise your dry lips.

How I find it: From the bullet, this lipstick is a vibrant pale pink and I thought instantly this shade would look horrible on me. I have yellow warm undertones and my lips a quite mauve tinted naturally. Therefore a pale pink would washM me out and make me look sick. Moreover, if the lipstick falls into my lip lines and catches at my dry chapped area, it will be super obvious! So for the first swatch, I scrubbed my lips with Lush lip scrub, then I apply lip balm (Rosebud Salve, papaw ointment or Nivea lip balms). Make long sure I don’t have any stray dead skin hanging around, then I applied a swipe through my lips and one layer was plenty for me. It did fall into my lip lines, and the shade against my skin tone just looks wrong. Maybe it’s not the look that I go for, but I think it would suit someone with paler skin or cooler skin tones.

Overall: The shade doesn’t really suit me therefore when the colour creeps into my lines, it looks super obvious. I could wear this shade, but with a coloured gloss on top – to disguise how pale it is on my lips and to moisturise the formula. I don’t really have an issue with the formula with darker and more vibrant shades, but with pale and pastel-y shades I tend to have a problem.
