Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder

Where I got it: I purchased this from ASOS for USD$13.71. Bourjois is not available in New Zealand yet, so you can only get it online.

What I got: This is the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzing Powder. I have heard a lot of good reviews of this bronzer and many makeup gurus use this and swear by it so I decided to give this a try because it is so affordable! Its subtly iridescent formula enriched with flecks of golds gives a radiant but non shiny glow. Its delicious chocolate perfume and ultra soft texture will make you melt with pleasure! Delice de Poudre exists in 2 shades for 2 different results and applications: Gold bronzing powder sprinkled with rich clusters of sunshine for the cheekbones and the décolletage. Bronzing powder for fair to medium skin for the face.

How I find it: The packaging is quite cute but it is not your usual bronzing powder compact packaging. It comes in a book-like flip open case made of cardboard with a magnetic closure. The product is embossed to look like a block of chocolate and smells like chocolate as well (yummy)! I like to use an angled contour brush and apply the bronzer to the hollows of my cheeks, temples, jaw line and around the hairline of my face. I would also use a small eye shadow brush to use it as a nose contour – lightly apply the bronzer onto the sides of my nose to create a higher and narrower nose bridge.

Overall: I love the chocolate design, I think it is so appealing! I noticed that some people do complain how the bronzer looks a bit orange on their skin but I don’t seem to have that problem at all, I would say the bronzer does look a bit dark, but with a light hand and building the shade I want slowly does help out a lot! The pigmentation and longevity of this bronzer is pretty decent, I used it on top of liquid foundation, powder foundation, with and without a setting spray over the top and it still looks good after a few hours. One thing I don’t really like is the book-like packaging instead of a snap-close compact as a magnetic closure like this seems easy to accidentally open up (maybe it’s just me). Overall, great value for money!
