Estée Lauder Perfecting Loose Powder in Medium

Where I got it: I was sent this for consideration. This is available from all Estée Lauder counters from 16th July 2014 for NZD $80.

What I got: This is Estée Lauder’s Perfecting Loose Powder in shade Medium. This comes in Light, Light/Medium or Medium. A feather-light, incredibly fine loose power that sets and perfects your favourie makeup look while softly refining and evening out skin tone for a flwless effect. With unforgettably addictive silk-feel, the power instantly diffuses while evening out skin tone to unveil a seamless complexion. Key technology in this power includes:

  • Smooth Skin Technology: A blend of unit particle shapes and sizes that fill and smooth skin’s surface for instant diffusion and coverage effect. adding to the impact are spherical, high-grade silica that have a liquid-like glide and incredible sensorial effect on skin.
  • Gold-tone options: Unlike traditional white-based mica, which can at times appear chalky of powdery on skin, these unique mica have an affinity to skin undertone, complementing all skin intensities from lightest to darkest for a supremely natural-looking complexion.
  • Shine control: The formula’s high concentration of silica provide lasting and optimal oil-control for a consistently fresh and flawless appearance.

How I find it: This shade is far too dark for me as a loose powder over my foundation so I am using this as a bronzing powder! Am I a genius or what?! Haha. So I use my usual bronzing brush, dip it into the powder on the top then tap off the excess on the cap or just tap it off. I then sweep it under my cheekbones to do some contouring. The powder is quite loose and sheer so I have to build it up if I want to use it as a contour or bronzer. I also use this around my temples for contouring. I wouldn’t use this however as a contouring on my nose as I find that I don’t like to use something so loose on that area, just doesn’t look right. The effect of this loose powder as a bronzing powder is pretty good. You can use it quite sheer or build it up without looking cakey.

Overall: The powder is really finely milled and it is buildable instead of being too pigmented in one go. It goes on smoothly and does not look muddy at all. I love using this as a bronzer or even an overall finishing powder if I feel like making my skin a bit tanned. I think this may be a great loose powder during summer when I do get a tan! This loose powder is designed to go be used with the Estée Lauder Clear Difference Complexion Perfecting BB Crème.
