Antipodes Joyous Protein-rich Night Replenish Serum

How I find it: After cleansing and toning at night I use about 3 drops of this serum (oil texture that looks like rosehip oil) onto my palms, warm it up and press it onto my skin. Then I massage it in with gentle circular motions. The serum does take a while to be absorbed (especially my combination skin). The scent of this serum is really pleasant of blackcurrants, it is not overwhelmingly strong, but it relaxes me while I give my face a bit of a uplifting massage. After the serum, I apply the Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream (they work perfectly together for an anti-aging night routine – they come in a mini duo set for $19.90).

Overall: I have been using this for a week now and I think this serum is lovely! I am not afraid of using oils on my face even though I have combination/oily skin. Facial oils are very good at balancing combination skin types, you just need to make sure you don’t overload your skin and I only use oils at night time. If you have oilier skin than me, then I would recommend using it every 2nd or 3rd night, instead of every night. I know that I can use this serum on its own without the need to add the night cream, but if you have really dry skin you would love the combo with the Night Cream. The down side is I guess how long it takes for this serum to be absorbed. It is not such a big deal I guess because I use this at night while I’m at home or before going to bed. Otherwise it makes me face look a little too oily. Other than that, the serum/oil feels great on the skin and overnight, it does help with making my skin glow and prevent moisture loss. Anti-aging effects will need to be looked into after a good month or 2 of use.

This lovely serum is available in a mini duo set just in case you don’t want to spend so much money on something you don’t know if you will like or suit you. I’ll soon be doing a giveaway of 2 of the mini duo set, so make sure you are following me on Instagram!
