Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm

Where I got it: I got this from a Sasa store while I was traveling in Hong Kong for HKD $98 which is about HKD $15. I hear that they will be launched in New Zealand sometime in March as well, I wonder how much they will be?

What I got: I got 2 Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in 130 Tease and 135. I have been in love with the original balm stains by Revlon previously and I have 5 different colours of those. When Revlon brought out the lacquer and matte balms, I wanted to try them. The new lacquer balms comes in a total of 10 colours and the matte balms 10, but I do notice that some colours in the original balm stains did not come to the New Zealand market so I am not sure if you will get all the colours this time round.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm – #130 and #135

How I find it: I tried applying these over lip balm and just by itself. They are quite similar to the original formula and not too glossy I would say. It is moisturising therefore I would say that I could wear it without a lip balm underneath. The colour pigment is rather long-lasting on the lips as it stains the lips to a red/pink tone. However the glossiness does not last very long.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm #130 Tease Swatch

Tease #130: This shade is really similar to the original balm stain I loved in Rendezvous. It is a orange toned pink balm, but Tease is a bit pinkier and definitely this formula is much glossier. It is really moisturising to use and even though it is not called a stain or tint anymore, it still leaves a good shade when it gently wears off. I love this shade, I can wear it everyday at work without looking too overly done.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm #135 Provocateur Swatch

Provocateur #135: This shade is a red toned pink which is qutie pigmented. It looks really comfortable on the lips and not too opaque, therefore it is easy to wear as well. The same moisturising and glossy formula that I really love.

Overall: I love the lacquer balms! I did try the matte balms on the back of my hand, but I am quite skeptical with matte lip products because they can accentuate my lines and make them drier than they were before. I don’t have the smoothest lips and I am quite lazy to scrub and maintain them in top-top condition. So I will stick to my lacquer balms and moisturising formulas for now! I might give the matte balms a chance when they do launch in New Zealand! Keep a look out and make sure you go to the counter to look at all the lovely shades!

They should be out sometime in March! I think I will try out the matte ones because so far I love all the Revlon Colourburst balms!
