LUSH Dark Angels fresh facial cleanser

Where I got it: As part of the LUSH blogger’s event, we could choose up to 3 products to try. I chose this facial cleanser along with Grass shower gel and You Snap The Whip Body Butter. This cleanser is $18.90 for 100g at your local LUSH stores or online.

What I got: I got a tub of Dark Angel fresh facial cleanser. This deep, dark, cleanser is suitable for young, dark and oily skin. A black, squidgy scrub with charcoal to absorb oils and exfoliate your skin (I am nuts about charcoal lately!). Nutritious avocado oil softens, glycerine keeps the moisture in and black sugar softly scrubs; rhassoul mud is anti-microbial and cleanses deeply, while sandalwood and rosewood essential oils are soothing, giving you a feeling of smooth, clean freshness that is difficult to beat. Just remember to wash it off properly and clean the wash basin after you.

Above: Dark Angels Facial Cleanser. This size is enough for a good cleanse! To get clean, you need to get dirty!

How I find it: I had so much fun using this! So I scoop a small amount of this cleanser with my fingers, add a little bit of water to it and work it loose in my palms, then I put some on my face and start massaging away with my fingers. The cleanser is a little bit grainy so sensitive skin pretties might need to massage very gently or you might need to avoid using this. It doesn’t smell the best but I like the smell of charcoal for some reason (weird eh?) I can definitely use this for the body as well for exfoliation.  I am considering using this with a cleansing cream or cleansing milk so it makes the cleanser more fluid and less abrasive…

Overall: Great cleanser that doubles as an scrub. I wouldn’t use this daily, but maybe 2-3 times a week as a deep clean because it is quite rough. You really need to give you basin a good rinse after because of the charcoal residue! By all means, try it out at your local LUSH store, they are happy to provide demonstrations and maybe a sample for you to take home! 🙂

Purchase? Yes! I actually want to try Coal Face as well which is another black cleanser!
